Minting avTokens (avUSD, avBTC)

Minting is the process of depositing a base asset (like USDC or BTC.b) into the protocol to create an equivalent amount of an avToken (e.g., avUSD or avBTC) to utilize within the Avant ecosystem. These tokens do not earn yield until staking, but are highly composable with participation in various DeFi protocols.

1. Navigate to the Products Section: Connect your wallet to the Avant app and go to the Products section.

2. Select Your Asset: Choose the Mint button for the asset you want to mint (e.g., avUSD, avBTC).

3. Enter the Amount: Input the quantity of the asset you wish to deposit. The interface will display the amount of the corresponding token you will receive on a 1:1 basis.

4. Approve the Token: You must grant the protocol permission to interact with the specific amount of the token you wish to deposit. Click Approve and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

Limited Approval

For security, this approval is only for the amount you are depositing now. It does not grant infinite approval, and you will need to approve a new amount for each subsequent deposit.

1. Confirm the Mint: Once the approval is confirmed, the Mint button will become active. Click it and confirm the final transaction in your wallet.

Minting avUSD

After the transaction is complete, you will see your new avToken (such as avUSD or avBTC) balance on the dashboard and in your wallet.
