Redeeming Tokens

Redeeming is the step to convert your Avant Protocol tokens (avUSD, avBTC, avUSDx) back into their original, underlying base assets (USDC or BTC.b). This guide is for users who have already unstaked their funds and have an avUSD or avBTC balance in their wallet.

  1. Go to the Portfolio Section: Navigate to the Portfolio tab on the platform.

  2. Select the Redeem Tab: To access the redemption interface, click on the Redeem tab located to the right of the token balance you want to redeem.

  3. Enter the Amount: Input the amount of the avToken (e.g., avUSD, avBTC, avUSDx) you wish to redeem. The interface will show you the exact amount of USDC or BTC.b you will receive in return.

  4. Approve the Token: You must grant the protocol permission to interact with the specific amount of the token you wish to deposit. Click Approve and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

  5. Initiate Redemption: Click Redeem and confirm the transaction in your wallet. Your tokens will automatically reflect in your balance once the redemption process is completed.

  6. Confirm the Redemption: Click the Redeem button and approve the transaction in your wallet pop-up.

Viewing Redemptions

After you have initiated a redemption request for a token that has a redemption period, you can monitor its progress in the Active Redemptions section on your Portfolio page.

The ability to have multiple, simultaneous active redemption requests queued at the same time is a feature specific to avUSDx.

Additional Information

  • Processing Time: Redemptions for avUSD and avBTC are typically completed within a few hours, though some may take up to 7 days depending on market conditions. Redemptions for avUSDx are fixed and complete after 7 days.

  • Flexibility: During this time, you may cancel or adjust your redemption order. However, avUSDx requests cannot be adjusted; if you need to make changes, you'll need to cancel and resubmit the request.

  • Transparency: A redemption fee may apply, and this will be clearly displayed in the interface before you proceed.
